Our rule of thumb at Slow is simple: if it hasn't mostly absorbed into your skin within 15 minutes OR if you feel like you need to wipe some off, you've probably applied too much. This philosophy extends beyond just our tallow products—it's a guiding principle for our entire skincare approach.

To help you simplify your skincare routine and embrace the concept of "less is more", we've developed a 4-step process that focuses on quality over quantity:

  1. Cleanse Gently: Start your routine with a gentle cleanser (this can simply be warm water). Our go-tos 1-2x per week are the Daily Glow Face Oil (as an oil cleanser) or a konjac sponge. These options effectively remove impurities without stripping away essential oils, leaving your skin refreshed and balanced.

  2. Hydrate with Hydrosols: Hydration is key for healthy, radiant skin. While our hydrosols are currently out of stock until summer, we recommend Rowan & Sage for a high-quality alternative. Hydrosols provide gentle hydration without overwhelming the skin, making them perfect for incorporating into your daily routine.

  3. Target Specific Concerns: Consider addressing specific skin concerns by incorporating a targeting serum or elixir. Our facial elixirs are formulated to be gentle yet effective, targeting common issues like dark spots or breakouts without harsh ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or retinoids. By focusing on targeted solutions, you can streamline your routine and achieve noticeable results.

  4. Nourish and Protect: Finish off your routine with a nourishing moisturizer. Our tallow balms are suitable for all skin types, providing essential moisture and protection. If tallow isn't your preference, our Daily Glow Face Oil is a versatile option that works wonders. Remember, less is more—even when it comes to moisturizing. Apply just enough to leave your skin feeling hydrated and protected, without any excess residue.

Here are a few more skin-loving tips to support you on your skin & soul care journey: 

  1. Use Multi-Purpose Products: Look for products that serve multiple purposes, such as our Daily Glow Face Oil, Timeless Body Oil, or Botanical Balm. These multitaskers simplify your routine while delivering exceptional results, nourishing your skin from head to toe.

  2. Hydrate from Within: In addition to topical skincare, don't forget to hydrate from within. Incorporate a skin and liver-loving herbal infusion into your daily routine. Simply combine 2 heaping teaspoons of nettle, 2 heaping teaspoons of burdock root, 1 heaping teaspoon of hibiscus, and 1 heaping teaspoon of chamomile into 16 ounces of boiling water. Cover and allow it to infuse for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, then enjoy the nourishing benefits.
